He said the Central Jakarta City Government has taken various steps to protect the public from the dangers of OOT abuse, including conducting surveillance throughout all districts.

In fact, he added, prevention cannot be carried out in isolation. Strong collaboration is needed between the government, law enforcement, schools, families, religious leaders, community leaders, and all elements of society.

"We continue to strengthen our prevention and handling of OOT abuse through various approaches in the health, education, youth, child protection, and law enforcement sectors," he said.

The Head of the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) in Jakarta, Sofiyani Chandrawati Anwar, stated that government agencies, law enforcement officials, educational institutions, health workers, and the community all play a crucial role in preventing and addressing OOT abuse.

"This activity is an effort to raise commitment from all parties to fight against the misuse of OOT," she stated.

She added that the impact of OOT abuse is not trivial. If not handled seriously, it becomes a real threat to the sustainability of the nation and state.

According to her, BBPOM in Jakarta, which is responsible for drug and food supervision, has routinely monitored and taken action against facilities that distribute OOT illegally, including unauthorized sales through drug stores, social media, and digital platforms.

"We also carry out integrated monitoring with law enforcement officers and local governments, as well as educate the public and students about the dangers of OOT abuse," she stated.
